CASEing The Web

Hello lovely people.  As it is a Bank Holiday here in the UK, and, unsurprisingly, raining, I got out my unused Stampin' Up stamp set 'Jar Of Love', to give it some inky love!

As I am not very good at flower arranging, either for real, or with paper, I went on the look out to see what others had done with the set.  I came across this lovely card by Kay Kalthoff of Stamping To Share  This is her card.

I have changed it somewhat, so it isn't an exact copy and this is my take.

As I purchased a pack of 250 of these doilies, you are probably going to get sick of seeing them on my cards, but, well, a girl's got to get her money's worth!  😉

Thank you so much for your visit today and especially if you have left a comment.  You are all appreciated more than you know!

A Card To Cheer

Good day Crafters.  I hope your weekend has started well.  The card I bring you today was made for my dear SIL who has been going through a bit of a tough time recently, so I wanted to let her know that we are here for her and that she is not alone.

Here is the card, and explanation below.

I used my new stamp set from Stampin' Up called Beautiful You and stamped the girl on to a white panel.  Then, I cut a 6x6 piece of patterned paper to cover the front of the card base and stamped the girl again on the scrap piece and fussy cut her dress out and adhered that to the stamped image on the white panel.

Next, I cut a few raindrops in the panel with a die from 'Weather Together' die set, also from Stampin' Up.  I finished the panel with a sentiment from the same stamp set and hand drew some border lines around the image.

I mounted the focal panel on to the card front with foam for a bit of dimension, sprayed it with my home made shimmer spray, to add a little sparkle (anyone who needs cheering, needs a bit of sparkle) and that was the card done.  It was gratefully received yesterday and I was happy I managed to brighten her day a little.

My day, didn't go quite as well!  I waited another five hours for my mum's heart nurse, only for her to ring and cancel five minutes before the end of the five hour time slot she gives us!  She asked if she could re-schedule, I'm afraid I lost my patience, and told her not unless she could give us a a specific  time for the next one, as I had other things to do than sit around for five hours waiting for a no show!!  She got my point, apologised, and said she would contact me next week about another appointment! Sorry, I'll stop moaning now, and wish you all a very happy weekend!

A Pre Stamped Panel

Hello crafters!  Today, I was just going through a box of bits and pieces that I had already stamped, or pieces where I had generally been trying out products I had purchased, and decided that I really should try and use some of them up.  So, this was made with one of those pieces.  Pictures first, explanation follows.

First, I took the pre-stamped panel and adhered it to a piece of black card-stock slightly larger for a frame all round.  Then, I had to decide what to do with it on a card.  I decided to adhere a strip of drywall tape - you know, the stuff that they put on the seams of plaster - down the centre of a white card base for some texture.

Then, I mounted the focal piece with foam for dimension, and finished by white heat embossing a sentiment on a strip of black card-stock and cutting two flag ends and also foam mounted that to the card.

Finally, I added a few sparkling sequins and that was it done!  I hope you have had or are having a great day!

Freshly Made Sketches #285

Hello lovely peeps!  Today, I thought I would travel a little out of my comfort zone and go rustic!  I have a love/hate relationship with kraft and rustic items . . . I LOVE them and the results other people get with them . . . they HATE me!  When I use kraft/rustic embellishment, it always looks like I rummaged through my waste bin and grabbed a handful of waste and threw it on a card base (I don't of course, but that is what it looks like).

This time, I was pleasantly surprised . . . it didn't look half bad (for me).  I made it with the Freshly Made Sketches challenge in mind, which, this week is a sketch by Amy.  This is the sketch.

Great, isn't it?  This is my take.  Explanations below the pics.

First, I took a piece of card (from the back of an envelope, no point buying, when you can recycle, right?)  and adhered it to the front of a card base.

Next, I took a small doily and adhered that down to the front of the card.  Then, I cut a strip of jute 'ribbon' and adhered that.  Next, I took my flowers and leaves and arranged them where I wanted them and adhered the leaves directly and the rose, up on foam for dimension.

I finished, by adding the stamped sentiment with glue to the flower and foam to the jute (to keep it level).  Finally, a lick of Stella over the rose and three of my home made dew drops (haven't used them in a while).  That's it done!  I'm off crafting with the girls tonight, so have a good evening/day, wherever you are and whatever you are doing!

Playing With A New Stampin' Up Set

Yesterday, I made a card with my new Stampin' Up set called, 'Timeless Textures'.  I have long admired the cards that have been made with a collage of textured stamps and wanted to give it a try!  Here is my attempt, explanation below pics!

I started with a plain, white card base and stamped the little 'grid' stamp three times in a grey ink.  Then, I stamped the little, distressed flourish in the right hand corner.  Next, I took, what is rapidly becoming my 'go to' flower and leaves, 'Altenew's - Beautiful Day' and arranged them over the stamping.

I finished by stamping the greeting in the same grey ink as the other stamping and adhered a few sparkling sequins.

I was quite pleased with my very first (unadventurous) foray into collage stamping, maybe next time I will be a little more adventurous with it!

Freshly Made Sketches #284

Hello lovelies.  I hope you are all having a lovely weekend so far.  Today, I wanted to make a card for a sweet friend, so I thought I would use the sketch over at the Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #284 blog.  This is their sketch, which is a sketch by Karren!

http://freshlymadesketches.blogspot.co.uk/2017/04/freshly-made-sketches-284-sketch-by.html

I hadn't used these butterflies from Clearly Besotted or this embossing folder by We R Memory Keepers in a long while and they are actually a couple of my favourite crafting items (note to self: I MUST use my favourite items more), I don't think this card needs any more explanation, so on to the pics!

There is a little shimmer spritz to the base card, which isn't showing in the photos, but it is a subtle shimmer.

Happy Card Frame Dies by Concord & 9th

Hello lovely friends.  I hope you have all had - or are having, depending where you are in the world - a lovely day!  I opened a new die set that I have purchased and given it an airing.  This is a very clever concept! I did attempt to explain how it is used, but got all 'tongue-tied' . . . well, perhaps that should be 'finger-tied' as I am typing this (of course), anywho, I'll stop gibbering and just let you see the video instead (which explains it a whole lot better than I was doing!  Then I will post the pictures of my card below.

Here is the aforementioned card!

Not a lot to it really as C&9th has done all the hard work!
