NBUS #12

Hello you lovely lovely people!  First, I would like to thank each and everyone of you who was kind enough to take the time and trouble to visit my blog whilst I was away, and for all the lovely comments!  It truly makes my day reading them all on my return!  Also, thank you to those who also wished me well regarding the wasp sting on my ankle.  I am happy to say that it is now healing well.  Nearly all the swelling has gone and there is just a hard lump and a bit of tenderness and bruising around the actual sting site, but it is getting there!

Now, on to today's card!  This is my first card since I have returned home.  I made it especially for Darnell's NBUS #12 Challenge

http://www.djkardkreations.com/2017/09/nbus-challenge-12-day-seven.html

For those of you who are new to card-making, the acronym - which was coined by Darnell herself, and now is so famous it should be an entry in the dictionary - stands for Never Before Used Schtuff.  Which is to encourage us to dig out those supplies we have bought and never got around to using!

My NBUS is the unbranded cover die that arrived literally as I was going out the door to go to the airport before we left for Spain!  The panel beneath was one from my stash that I had made some time ago with 'Starlight Paints'.  These paints shimmer and shine like no others and have to be seen IRL to be fully appreciated.  However, I have done my best to photograph them in the best light possible (which is sadly lacking in this part of the world, at this time of year).  Here are the photos.

Thank you so much for your visit today and especially if you have left a comment.  You are all appreciated more than you know!

If you have a question, please be sure I have a way to contact you so I can answer, as a lot of you are 'no-reply' bloggers, so I am unable to reply via e-mail.

Home Again!

OK, lovely people, no card today. just some stories, pics and video clips of my month in Andalucia!

First, I want to say, that I was able to receive my e-mails on my UK mobile (they have finally stopped roaming charges, thanks to the EU, but that probably won't last long now that we are coming out).  However, it was far too laborious to use a phone for anything other than e-mails.  So, thank you so so much if you visited and commented whilst I was away, I hope to make it up to you!  I did manage to post some pics to Instagram that I took on my phone, so I apologise to anyone who has already seen some of the pictures there.  First I will show a few pics and some short video clips of the surrounding 'campo' (countryside) and then on to a couple of stories.

Now, although there is nothing they sell for card making in that particular area, they have started to stock some wool and knitting needles, so, as I haven't knitted anything in years, I decided to start easy and knit a scarf for my very dear friend who lives there for the very cold winters they get!

The weather was wonderful all month and it was a very relaxing time, except for the last week, when I was sat quietly reading a book in the sunshine minding my own business and a wasp stung me on the ankle!  Three days later I had to go to the emergency room as it was just getting worse and worse and swelling alarmingly, there they gave me a shot and some tablets and cream to massage in.

As I say, I apologise to those of you who have seen the pictures already on Instagram, and thanks to everyone who kindly visited and commented whilst I was away, it is so very kind of you all!

And, thank you today also, especially if you have left a comment.  You are all appreciated more than you know! If you have a question, please be sure I have a way to contact you so I can answer, as a lot of you are 'no-reply' bloggers, so I am unable to reply via e-mail.

Small Stamp Stamping

Hello friends and fellow crafters.  Today's card was made using a variety of small stamps from various stamp sets.

First, I traced a circle with a circle die using a pencil, then I just stamped around the circle using various stamps and various ink colours.

I finished off with a sentiment from WPlus9's 'Handlettered Holiday' stamp set, a spritz of shimmer and some red Stickles.

I really enjoyed using the small stamps and will probably do more, but next time I think I will start with a smaller circle.

Here are the rest of the pictures.

Ombre Stencilling

Hi crafty ladies (and gents).  I hope you are all well.  For this card I blended ink through a stencil in an ombre fashion.  This was a quick and simple card to make.  I added a big, bold sentiment, a strip of patterned paper, a strip of glitter card and called it a good 'un.  Here are the pictures.

Another Pre-Made Panels & Scheduled Post

Hola fellow bloggers and friends!  I hope you are all having a great day!  Here is another card that I made with one of my 'stash' panels, this one was made with a mixture of different greens in the Imagination Crafts 'Starlights' range of paints.  These paints shimmer and shine like nothing else!  They are truly amazing and they can be used on a variety of surfaces indoors and out!

Without further ado, here is the card.

The die was one that I bought from someone who had got it free in a magazine, so I'm afraid I have no details on it.

One Die Set, Two Cards.

Hello fellow crafters!  I hope you are all having a good day - hopefully, I am - this post has been scheduled!

Today's offering is another two for one!  One unbranded die set, and two cards.  The first was made with the die-cuts adhered straight to the card front and the second was made by embossing with the dies.  The set comprises of three pieces, the outer one, which cuts the outline, the second one which cuts the main details and the inner one that cuts the little centre.

Here is the first.

Here is the second one.
