My Last Christmas Card

Hello lovely people!  Firstly, I need to apologise for my lack of posts of late, but most of all, for not visiting all of  you, my dear friends!  My mum has been quite poorly again - not as bad as this time last year, thank the Lord - but she caught a cold, which then developed into a nasty chest infection.

I was so worried it could develop into Pneumonia (as it does so very often with older folk), but she was prescribed more antibiotics - she's allergic to most of them, but, luckily, not these.  So, she is on the mend - still quite a way from being well - but I am praying she will be 100% by Christmas.

So, a big thank you to those of you who kindly sent me Christmas cards (I haven't even had time to thank you in person, so, again, I apologise), but I have appreciated every single one of them!  And I think I have managed to get all of mine done at last.  This card that I am posting today, is the one I made for my mother (she loves bling, so it is quite sparkly, and busy, but it's what she likes).

I'm afraid, I think this will probably be my last post for this year - if I do get a chance, I will post another - but I think it will probably be in the new year now.  So, if I don't get a chance, I would like to thank each and every one of you for your continued support throughout the year and wish you all a very happy Christmas and a healthy and happy new year too.

Sorry for rambling, here is the card.

What?! . . . It's December?!

. . . where has all the months gone?  I'm sure someone stole November from right under my nose!

I am frantically trying to catch up on all the things I have to do for Christmas - not only for me, but for Mum as well, as she is unable to get out and about on her own, but, of course, still wants to 'do' Christmas, not the meal, just cards and presents - so that means I have to do twice the amount of organising of those things.  Oh, well.  This is why I have been so remiss with my blog visits and comments - not to mention, my posts, for which, I must apologise profusely!

Enough of the waffle, here are a couple more Christmas cards that I have managed to make!  They are quick and simple. as that is all I have time for.  The embossing folder is one I saw my good friend Bonnie Klass use in her post HERE which, then, of course, I had to buy, because I loved it so!  Bonnie made me do it!  Well, that's what I tell everybody! 😉  Thanks Bonnie!

A Few More Christmas Cards

Hello lovely crafters!  I hope you are all well.  Here as promised are a few more 'batch processed cards'  for my 2017 Christmas card list.  I am going to have to really go some to get enough made, so please excuse my rushed posts.

A Different Project

Hello my lovelies.  I hope you are all well and having a good weekend!  I have gotten way behind with my visiting and commenting I'm afraid, because I have been working on a sewing project.

Those of you who follow me will know that I recently bought a new sewing machine - my old one needed a crane to get it out of the bottom of my wardrobe - and so, I never really used it.  Of course, in my teens and early twenties I used to make quite a few clothes, but as time went by, life got in the way and clothes were so cheap to buy, that I kind of gave up on sewing.

However, with my new lightweight machine I have found it so much more convenient to use!  So, here is my latest project. Don't look too closely, it's a bit rough and in dire need of some proper 'finishing off', but it's nearly there I think.

I didn't use a pattern, I just 'cloned' one of my dresses in my wardrobe that I liked the fit of.  But, I have bought some patterns now, so hopefully, future projects will look far better.

Here is a closer look and there will be some cards in the next couple of days too!

A closer look at the fabric (scuba), which I had never heard of until I purchased it for this project!

Batch Made Christmas Cards

Hello my friends.  This is a quick visit, as I have loads to do (I know you all know that feeling this time of year), so I won't waste too much of your time with chitter chatter.

Here are a few Christmas cards that I have made . . . I am sooo behind with them!

A couple of closer pics!

More to come as I start the race of catch up!

Tag You're It Featured Artist

Hello lovely bloggers!  Today I am thrilled to tell you that I was asked to be a featured artist over at the wonderful 'Tag You're It' blog.  Now, I don't make many tags, I'm never quite sure what to put on them, but I felt so honoured and excited that I just had to say yes, and do you know what, I loved making it!

First, I die cut the tag, then I dry embossed it with little hearts.  Next, I stamped the little onesie on to patterned paper and cut it out after stamping the sentiment and colouring the sentiment, the neckline, sleeves and hemlines in with a coordinating marker.  Then I adhered it at the top of the tag so the neckline was around the hole for the ribbon and to give me space for my sentiment.

Finally, I die cut the sentiment from foil card, fed some saddle stitched, grosgrain ribbon through the hole and tied a bow around that in ivory organza ribbon.  Here are the pictures of the finished tag.

I really want to thank the lovely Donna Peachey - who invited me - of the blog 'Room In A Cupboard' and Tracey McNeely who owns 'Tag You're It!' and I encourage you to play along as it really is tremendous fun!

I've shown you mine, now you show me yours!

Upcycling

Hello lovely crafters.  This post is a very quick one, because it is 01:30 and I only got back from A&E a couple of hours ago.  DH and I had been up there from 17:00 to 23:30 and hadn't even eaten since breakfast, but I was about to post this card before we had a mercy dash on.  To cut a very long story short, my dear mother had to be taken to A&E for a very nasty infection, and they are keeping her in overnight!

This card was made with a small square of fabric that was sent to me as a sample when I purchased some batting for a bag. And it was too pretty to just throw away, so I just framed it with a gold foil frame and stamped and embossed a sentiment to coordinate.

I'll leave you with the pictures, whilst I go off to bed (early for me, but I'm shattered).  Have a great week everyone.  That's me signing off.

A Win & A Card

A friend of mine is going through a tough time at present and I was thinking of her when I created this card as she is being amazingly strong.

First, I stamped the background on to a pink card base, then I sprinkled on WOW 'Sugar Plum' embossing powder - which was amongst a great stash of products that was a blog candy win from my blogging buddy Veerle.  Her blog can be found HERE.

I heat set the EP and it was full of glittery goodness . . . so pretty!

Next, I stamped the focal piece and adhered it to a piece of vellum that was slightly larger than my focal piece and adhered it to the card front.

I finished off with some Nuvo pearl drops and this is the finished card.
