CASology Challenge #170 - Take Two

A quick one today for the CASology Hearts Challenge

http://casology.blogspot.co.uk/2015/10/week-170-heart.html

For this second entry I used the same SSS stamp set, 'Locking Hearts'  and just gave the hearts the same WOS and Glossy Accents treatment.

I said it was a quick one!  Off to do some more die cataloguing now!  Have a lovely weekend wherever you are and whatever you are doing!  Hazel xx

CASology #170 - Hearts

Hi my dear blog buddies!  Today, I decided to have a go at a challenge that I don't believe I have entered before - you all know how it is, you get into a bit of a rut and end up always entering the same challenges over and over . . . no?  . . . maybe it's just me then!

Anywho, the challenge I decided to enter is CASology, where they have a challenge with a cue card and that, this week is

http://casology.blogspot.co.uk/2015/10/week-170-heart.html

Well, I remembered a stamp set that I purchased a long while ago and never got around to inking it up, but I thought would be perfect for this challenge.  It is the Simon Says Stamp 'Locking Hearts' set.

First, I stamped one half of the heart in a pink ink (representing me) and then the other half in blue (representing my other half . . . gedit? . . . sorry!)

Next, I inked up one half of the sentiment with the pink and the other half in the blue - I overlapped them a bit in the middle, hoping for a purple, but as it was pigment ink it didn't work out very well - perhaps I should buy a pink and a blue in a dye ink.

This is my card

Oh, and I finished the heart with a helping of WOS and glossy accents!

As always, thanks for stopping by and for your comments that help to make my day.  Have a great one, whatever you are doing.  Hazel xx

Freshly Made Sketches #209

Today's card is for Freshly Made Sketches #209 - A Sketch By Jen B  and this is her sketch

http://freshlymadesketches.blogspot.co.uk/2015/10/freshly-made-sketches-209-sketch-by-jen.html

It could be any shape, so I chose a window.  First, I dry embossed a base card with a brick wall embossing folder, die cut the window frame and a backing piece the same size.  Then I stuck a piece of acetate behind the window frame and while that was drying I created my stamped scene on the backing piece of card.  Then I added white Flower Soft for the snow.

Next, I mounted the window frame onto my stamped piece with foam tape for dimension and adhered the whole thing to the front of the embossed base card.

I finished off by stamping the sentiment on to the window box and mounted that to the window sill to finish.

This is the card.

Thank you all so much for sticking with me whilst I catalogued my stamps and hopefully I am back to normal . . . for a while.  I hope you are all having a great day.  Thanks for stopping by and for any comments . . . you really make my day!

Addicted To CAS - Sparkle Challenge (Take Three)

Today's card is another for the ATCAS - Sparkle challenge . . .

. . . where there is a chance to win a $20 gift certificate to the Happy Little Stampers store!

I chose to use silver today and made a card with silver embossing powder, silver ribbon and sparkle medium through a distressed stencil and then sprinkled with silver glitter, finished with a few glittered dewdrops to balance the design.  Here it is.

Thank you for visiting today and making my day!  Have a great crafting day!  Hazel xx

Freshly Made Sketches #208 - A Sketch By Cindy H

Today's card is for Freshly Made Sketches #208 - A Sketch By Cindy H  and this is her fabulous sketch.

http://freshlymadesketches.blogspot.co.uk/2015/10/freshly-made-sketches-208-sketch-by.html

Now, this has always been one of my most favourite challenges, but I have neglected it of late, life has got in the way, holidays, internet problems, cataloguing and indexing over 450 stamp sets . . . you all know what it's like!

Now that I have all my clear stamps catalogued and out of the way, I decided to have a nice break from the grind and join in some challenges, so here is one for the ladies over at FMS, to say sorry for neglecting them!

I would also like to link this one to Addicted To CAS #74 Challenge where the code word is

http://addictedtocas.blogspot.co.uk/2015/10/challenge-74-sparkle.html

I have turned the FMS sketch around and mixed it up a little and this is the card.

A lot of the card was elements I had made up previously and had been 'kicking around', so I thought it was about time I used some of it.

Thank you for visiting today and for all your comments!  I hope you are having a lovely weekend!  Until the next time!  Hazel xx

New Goodies!

Good day all you lovely people!  Finally back to posting normally while I think about my next cataloguing session and how I am going to go about it!

Today I received some new goodies in the post, so I just had to make a card with them.  Something I'm usually remiss about (which is what got me in such a mess in the first place!)

One of the things I got was a Sizzix die set that I got for around £3 in a sale and the other was my Happy Little Stampers stamp set 'Birthday Friends'

I wasn't quite so keen on the Sizzix die, however there were three in the set and I liked one of them, but I did think that this one would be good for paper piecing.  So I had a rummage through my scraps and found a watercolour scrap I had made while testing out some watercolour markers that was ideal for the cupcake wrapper, a piece of pink, textured card that I made in the past by sticking scrunched up tissue paper on to card-stock and a scrap of red SU card-stock.

The sentiment was from the Happy Little Stampers stamp set 'Birthday Friends'  set and I stamped it on to another scrap of black card-stock and heat embossed it in white - I just love the font in this set!

Then I used another item that arrived (aren't I good?)  a Lil' Inker 'Dotted Scallops' cover plate as I thought it matched the scallops on the cupcake die and used this on the base card.  Then I mounted the piece on to the front.

Here is the completed card.

As you can see, I dressed it with some black dots to tie in with the sentiment strip and some WOS and Glossy Accents on the cherry.

Thank you for your visit today, I appreciate you all and will visit you where possible!  Have a lovely day!  Hazel xx

Addicted To CAS - Sparkle

I'm back!  Oh, my, goodness folks . . . what can I tell ya?  The new cataloguing and indexing system that I laboured over for over a week  . . . solid, is starting to pay off in dividends!  Thank you Kathleen Driggers . . . you have revolutionised my crafting!  I now know exactly where any given (clear) stamp that I own is at any given time!

Today in celebration, I decided to make this card

For the Addicted To CAS - Sparkle challenge

http://addictedtocas.blogspot.co.uk/2015/10/challenge-74-sparkle.htm

Where Kylie is generously donating a $20 certificate to her Happy Little Stampers Store

How cool is that?  Here are the rest of the pictures and I will outline what I used and how below.

First, I stamped the flourish tree from the Kirsty Wiseman 'Joy To The World' stamp set with 'Delicata' gold pigment ink and brushed over it with Perfect Pearls 'Perfect Gold' mica powder and sprayed lightly with water to set.

I knew that I didn't want the gold to completely overpower the design, so I opted to stamp the sentiment, a Crafty Impressions stamp from the 'Christmas Baubles Sentiments' stamp set with Versafine Onyx Black pigment ink.

Next, in order to balance the design, I rubbed the Delicata gold ink pad down the side of the card and added a black card-stock strip to balance the design and brushed that too with the Perfect Pearls powder.  Then I fussy cut the bottom of the stamped panel around the base of the tree for a little added interest.

Then I mounted the panel on top of the card base with craft foam for a little dimension and finished the whole thing off with some red gems, gold Stickles and some splatters of gold watercolour paints by Fine Tec which is a set of five different shades of gold and one silver.

That's it for today folks.  I hope you join in over at ATCAS for a chance to win the $20 HLS gift certificate and have a great day of crafting!  Thanks for sticking with me all this time.  Hazel xx
