NBUS #12

Hello you lovely lovely people!  First, I would like to thank each and everyone of you who was kind enough to take the time and trouble to visit my blog whilst I was away, and for all the lovely comments!  It truly makes my day reading them all on my return!  Also, thank you to those who also wished me well regarding the wasp sting on my ankle.  I am happy to say that it is now healing well.  Nearly all the swelling has gone and there is just a hard lump and a bit of tenderness and bruising around the actual sting site, but it is getting there!

Now, on to today's card!  This is my first card since I have returned home.  I made it especially for Darnell's NBUS #12 Challenge

http://www.djkardkreations.com/2017/09/nbus-challenge-12-day-seven.html

For those of you who are new to card-making, the acronym - which was coined by Darnell herself, and now is so famous it should be an entry in the dictionary - stands for Never Before Used Schtuff.  Which is to encourage us to dig out those supplies we have bought and never got around to using!

My NBUS is the unbranded cover die that arrived literally as I was going out the door to go to the airport before we left for Spain!  The panel beneath was one from my stash that I had made some time ago with 'Starlight Paints'.  These paints shimmer and shine like no others and have to be seen IRL to be fully appreciated.  However, I have done my best to photograph them in the best light possible (which is sadly lacking in this part of the world, at this time of year).  Here are the photos.

Thank you so much for your visit today and especially if you have left a comment.  You are all appreciated more than you know!

If you have a question, please be sure I have a way to contact you so I can answer, as a lot of you are 'no-reply' bloggers, so I am unable to reply via e-mail.

  3. This is so shimmery and pretty Hazel and I love the sweet black die cut butterfly, sentiment and gems which go beautifully with that gorgeous background underneath the white cover die. I'm pleased your wasp sting is healing nicely too as it did look very sore in the photo. x

  8. Welcome back from Spain, Hazel! So glad to hear the ankle is slowly healing! You must have a nasty allergy to wasps, so do be careful! Your first card back is simply gorgeous and I'm honored that you brought it to NBUS Challenge #12! Thank you!! Those paints look amazing; wish we could get them here. I love that you chose that die and how you did the sediment banner in black with that sweet butterfly! Scrummy!! Hugs, Darnell

  12. Hi Hazel, I was hoping you would use the contact form on my blog. I don't receive any gmail messages anymore and I can't find what the problem is let alone solve it. Also I have tried to change my email adress for my blog but I can't find anywhere where I could change it. So big problems for me. Here's my private e-mail veerle.derden@hotmail.com Hugs Veerle x

  15. wonderful colors Hazel, I love the flow feeling the die provides. Thought of you yesterday while in the drive through at starbucks, a lazy little honey bee landed on my hand as I was paying...the clerk jumped, I screetched and finally had the piece of mind to gently flick it off before it decided to sting me. I think my heart has finally calmed down.

  16. Hi Hazel,
great design and amazing light paint. Despite the illumination that we now have in Europe, we can see how these colors shine. Beautiful. Your background imprint is also beautiful. It brings harmony and calm to the card, and color adds energy. Beautifully balanced card!

  18. Gorgeous swirly movement with your cover die paired with the pink tones in the background! Your butterfly detail matches it perfectly!

  19. Love the sense of motion you've created with the cover die and the pretty ombre background. I can see this with a sea blue background, to remind me of the British seas! It's a beautiful die, and must check it out. Not heard of these paints either. I have some shimmer products I bought after seeing Jill Foster use them. This is just SO pretty Hazel. Was pleased to read the wasp encounter is improving a whole lot. Sounds like you are very sensitive to that venom, so might check with your regular doctor to see if you should have an Epi pen with you in future. That picture on FB looked so painful. Glad you are home, and hope the vacation was great & relaxing, aside from the wasp adventure. Hugs & TFS
