Another Card For Freshly Made Sketches #281

Well hello lovely crafty friends!  I hope you have had a good week.  Today, I have for you another card for Freshly Made Sketches #281

This is the sketch which is by Kim this week.

http://freshlymadesketches.blogspot.co.uk/2017/03/freshly-made-sketches-281-sketch-by-kim.html

This is my card, explanation below as always.

For the stripes I used some gold foil card-stock and some gold glitter card-stock.  Then, I used a fussy-cut water-coloured flower and leaves from the Simon Says Stamp  'Spring Flowers' stamp set and a swirl cut from vellum as my focal piece.  I adhered all to a panel of white card-stock slightly smaller than my card base and then mounted that with some foam for some dimension.

I finished the whole thing off with a die-cut sentiment that had a generous lick of Wink Of Stella over it, a few of spots of black enamel accents and a little spritz of shimmer (of course).

Have a lovely weekend, wherever you are and whatever you do!

Thank you so much for your visit today and especially if you have left a comment.  You are all appreciated more than you know!

If you have a question, please be sure I have a way to contact you so I can answer, as a lot of you are 'no-reply' bloggers, so I am unable to reply via e-mail.

Freshly Made Sketches #281

Hello my lovelies!  I hope you all had a good weekend and are having a great day so far!

Today there is another sketch on the Freshly Made Sketches challenge blog and here is the sketch provided by Kim.

http://freshlymadesketches.blogspot.co.uk/2017/03/freshly-made-sketches-281-sketch-by-kim.html
At first, I wasn't sure what I should do for the stripes, patterned papers maybe, stencilled stripes, heat embossed stripes, in the end I decided to go with dry embossed stripes made with my scoring board and a stylus.  I don't think it shows very well in the pictures, but I think you will see them better in the close-up at the end.  Here it is (details at bottom).

I dry embossed the stripes straight on to the card base.  Next, I stamped the largest flower and leaves from Altenew's 'Beautiful Day' stamp set, adhered the leaves directly on to the base and popped the flower up on foam for a bit of dimension.  As I haven't used gems in ages, I used a large one for the centre of the flower and two others for balance.

I finished off with a die-cut 'Hugs'  . . . a Simon one . . . I think?  A quick lick of 'Wink Of Stella' on  the sentiment and a quick spritz of my home-made shimmer spray, and called it done!

Thank you so much for your visit today and especially if you have left a comment.  You are all appreciated more than you know!

Another Entry For Freshly Made Sketches #280

Hello my lovely friends!  I hope you all had a good weekend.  I don't know why, but for some reason I kept thinking it was a bank holiday?  Maybe it was because it was Mother's Day?  AND, guess who forgot to alter her clocks?  Anywho, I'd better get on, as I only have six hours left to get this posted and entered for a second bite at the Freshly Made Sketches #280 challenge

http://freshlymadesketches.blogspot.co.uk/2017/03/freshly-made-sketches-280-sketch-by-jen.html
This is a sketch by Linda.  Here is my take today.  Explanations at the end of the post.

First, I took a plain, white panel and embossed it with my favourite embossing plate 'Linen' and mounted it directly to the front of a white card base.

Next, I adhered a piece of a die-cut grid that I had left over from a previous project.  Then I arranged some roses and leaves that I had stamped using a three-step stamping set from Papertrey Ink, adhered the roses with foam tape and then the leaves and a vellum sprig were adhered flat to the card.

Finally, I stamped a small sentiment from Stampin' Up (I love this set, it's so useful), adhered it to a matching strip of gold foil card-stock and adhered that flat to the card too.

I finished the whole thing off by punching out some gold foil circles, adhering them strategically and did some foiling highlights to the roses.

Thank you so much for your visit today and especially if you have left a comment.  You are all appreciated more than you know!

Freshly Made Sketches #280

Hello lovely friends!  I hope you are all having a good weekend so far.  Mine started badly yesterday, when I waited with my mother for four-and-a-half hours for a meeting with a heart nurse, who turned out to be a 'no show'.  Unfortunately, I didn't have a number that I could ring to find out what was going on!

Anywho, my card today is for the Freshly Made Sketches #280 challenge

http://freshlymadesketches.blogspot.co.uk/2017/03/freshly-made-sketches-280-sketch-by-jen.html

I  started by using a circular stencil, made by die cutting a piece of card-stock and sponged through it lightly on to a white card base.  Then, I took a poppy stencil and used Starlight paints (in red and green)  to paint the poppies and left it to dry.

Next, I die-cut a frame from a scrap piece of white card-stock and adhered it around my focal piece.  Then, I die-cut a butterfly from gold foil card, stamped a sentiment in black, fussy cut it out and adhered both with foam for dimension.

I finished the whole thing off with some black enamel accents and some gold Nuvo drops.

A Small Thank You Gift

Hello my lovely friends.  A very quick post today as I am off to a meeting with Mum's heart nurse, just so the nurse can have a chat and catch up with how Mum is faring and do some checks.

As I am not going to be able to craft today, I thought I'd share a quick picture of a little bag I made for someone who was very kind to my mum recently.  It's a bag with some cards, envelopes and a small gift, along with a thank you card for her (I forgot to take a picture before sealing the envelope), never mind, here is the bag.

A Five Hour Retrospective For CAS Mix Up

Hello again my lovelies!  I don't know if you caught my post earlier HERE
where I mentioned that I was going to enter the card to two challenges, until I realised there was no stamping on it, so I was unable to enter it in to Loll and Bonnie's 'CAS Mix Up Challenge'

http://casmixup.blogspot.co.uk/2017/03/cas-mix-up-march-challenge.html

Well, I was still kicking my self a few hours later (as I loved the way the smooshed panel had turned out), when I had a light-bulb moment and I added some stamping in the form of a partial sentiment - I hope it isn't classed as cheating, as I do think that it was actually crying out for that addition anyway - so, I stamped 'sending' on a tiny snippet of card-stock and adhered it just above the word 'Hugs'.  I hope this is allowed, as it was only made hours ago!

Anyway, here it is now, let me know if you think that that was what was missing earlier!

Well, there you have it!  Details are as previous post!  HERE

Thank you so much for your visit today and especially if you have visited twice and left a comment.  You are all appreciated more than you know! Another Freshly Made Sketches Entry

Hello lovely people!  I do hope you're having a marvellous weekend!  I have been 'playing' in my craft room and have another  card here for the 'Freshly Made Sketches #279', what can I say . . . I'm making up for lost time!  😉

Here is the sketch.

http://freshlymadesketches.blogspot.co.uk/2017/03/freshly-made-sketches-279-sketch-by-rita.html

I had started to link this to Loll and Bonnie's 'CAS Mix Up Challenge' too, but then realised . . . it has no stamping!  DUH!  Never mind!  Here are the rest of the photos, as you can see, I followed the sketch completely today!

Again, I used my Starlight Paints - I am completely hooked on their gorgeous shimmer - and as I didn't want to hide it completely, I used a strip of vellum as the top layer, everything else speaks for itself I think!
