What To Do? & An Odd Thing Happened!

Hi everyone!  I hope you all had a wonderful Easter and are ready for the spring, I know I am!  I must be honest and tell you that this card was made a while back, but I didn't know what to do with it . . . have you ever had those?

I used the die, when I first bought it and had that very bright piece of glossy card-stock in my drawer and put it behind the die -cut edge, I liked the boldness of it peeking out from under the pretty cut-out, but when I tried to put it together in a card, I was at a loss!  Everything I tried, just didn't look right and I have had it out on many occasions since. . . . scratched my head, and . . . put it back in the drawer again!!

Today, I decided that my indecision was ridiculous and I was fed up with seeing it in my drawer, so I got it out again, stamped a sentiment, sprayed it with my home-made gold sparkle spray, added some flower sequins and a few spots of gold Stickles and called it done . . . it's the best I could do, I had a real, creative block with this one . . . do you ever get that?

An odd thing happened on my blog today . . . I've had it once before months ago . . . see the screenshot below.

See the Israel page-view count?  Does anyone know how that happens?  Anywho, on to the rest of the pictures of today's card.

What would you have done with it?   For those not on Instagram or Facebook, here is a picture of baby Max!

Thanks for making my day by visiting!  Have a great evening . . . we have hail here!

  1. Your card is beautiful! Wow! And yes, I have done that where I have most of the pieces-parts of a card ready and then don't complete it for ages!

    Baby Max is just adorable!

I don't know about your blog tracker count, exactly, but I have had odd things like that too. Like referring sites that seemed to be gambling sites? I mean, is gambling such a big thing that they now need to gamble on what colors I am going to use on my next card or something? I don't get it either!
    Have a great day!

  2. Oh gosh, I've done that too!! I have my box of half finished things next to me in case I find inspiration...... it's rare but occasionally happens!! I love the bright orange card beneath it. It's also perfect with just some minimal embellishment.

Baby Max is indeed super cute. It's funny to think they all come out that cute and tiny and turn into terrors at 2 (mine just had a birthday ;) - nah, they are still adorable whatever age!!

As for your curious issue with Israel, I have no idea! I like Heidi's idea above! Lol!! xx

  4. Oh, what a sweet picture of Max!! He's so precious!! Your card is absolutely gorgeous!! I love the beautiful colors and the flower border!! So creative the way you stamped the sentiment, too!! Stunning my friend!! That's so strange with your blog count!! I have no idea why it would do that!! Have a great day!! Big hugs :)

  5. This card is really gorgeous! I would never have known, that it gave you so much trouble. Some cards do that and others practically make themselves...

I never even knew that I could track my visitors by country! Thank you for teaching me something new about my blog. Yes, it is weird what you show here! There is so much I don't understand about blogger.

Thank you for sharing a picture of cutie-pie Max!

  6. Yup. Been there, done that...over and over! I have a big box of half-finished cards. I'm not sure they'll ever get finished. I'm not sure I would have done anything more--or different--to your card. It is pretty as is. Congrats again on baby Max. He's beautiful!

  7. Oh, yes, that's happened to me, Hazel! Many times! I love it when things do come together after weeks of a card being on the "naughty boy chair," haha! I swear it's like the cards have a mind of their own! And, in this case, your card knew what it was doing: the result is quite stunning to me! I love your eye for design!

As far as the odd stats, yes, that's happened to me twice only it was Israel once and Russia once. (Actually, I still get RU traffic often, but not in huge numbers like this.) I checked with Blogger and they told me it is called "referral spam." It's harmless, but irritating. The important thing is to NEVER click on any of the "traffic" links given. Think of it like a telephone marketer and how they love it when you answer the phone because they no they have a "live" one on the other end. Blog spammers are hoping that you'll click on them and then you'll get bombarded. I hope that makes sense.

And finally, and most importantly, thank you for sharing the photo of handsome baby Max! Congratulations to all on this wonderful news!! Hugs, Darnell

    1. Thank you Darnell! Yes, that makes sense to me now, I didn’t think of it like that. I was used to the Spam comments, but this was different. I never, ever click on any links in anything, so, no worries there, but thanks for the warning. I had my cc cloned way back when, but luckily my cc company was switched on enough to realise something was awry when they saw it had been used for online gambling . . . and suspected it wasn’t me . . . thanks goodness! I now have a key scrambler, sandbox, antivirus (of course), firewall AND Trusteer Rapport!! I know that no amount of security measures will stop the ‘real’ criminals who want your details, but it will stop the opportunists . . . and, at least I feel I have done all I can! Hazel xx

  9. Hi Hazel . . . that card is a stunner . . . I love the CAS-ness of it and the beautiful colours that you've made sparkly.

YES . . . been there, done that with the "dunno what to do with it now" card. But your patience has been rewarded in this case.

Sorry I MADE you buy sparkly pens. I'm a nuisance like that!

Aww, baby Max is a cutie-pie for sure.

  12. Beautiful card Hazel. It doesn't look like you struggled, but I totally understand what you are saying. I have THREE drawers of things like that, just begging to be added to a card. I did dive into my Christmas drawer (yes, I have a drawer dedicated to left over Christmas pieces) and made a couple of cards that I need to get posted. :) It's like a weight is lifted when you use something ... I bet you felt that way too. :)

No matter how you got there, this card is really beautiful. I can see why you bought that gorgeous die-cut border ... and it's is so pretty with the bright peeking through against all the fabulous white space.

As for Max ... he is SUPER ADORABLE! I hope you get to see him soon and get some snuggles.

So weird about your visitors. Looks like you are very popular in Israel! :) xx

  14. I think this has happened to all of us Hazel. But I just thought of it happening to me more because I'm not as talented as you gals. lol I do love how this card turned out. The flowery cuts outs are so pretty and I love the paper you put behind it. Very striking card! Yes, I have some weird countries that have a lot of numbers too. And after reading what Darnell said, it all makes sense. She is so smart!!! I'm glad she said don't click on the traffic although I never go into this part of the blog until now after reading yours. Likely I won't ever go back into it again! lol Baby Max is so precious Hazel!!!! He is perfect, his little complexion is just beautiful. I'm so glad you shared a picture with us! Hugs, Brenda

  16. You know what this lovely card of yours needs? A photo of Max stuck slap bang in the middle of it. The card does say 'you are amazing' after all :)
Seriously though, it really is a lovely card. Such beautiful detailing at the bottom. X

  17. I LOVE this! The fancy edging looks beautiful with that gorgeous underlay paper, and stamping the curvy sentiment, adding in the sparkle of the embellies, it's perfect. I can't imagine _you_ with a card block. It happens to me all the time...but this one doesn't look like 'block' to me! It's bloomin' gorgeous!! TFS & Hugs

  20. I think this card is beautiful and I don't know why you kept tucking it back inside the drawer! Ok, I do know why - we are our own worst enemies when it comes to critiquing our own cards. They always seem to come up lacking for one reason or another. I can assure you that this one is top notch and you needn't have worried! And congratulations on beautiful baby Max. What a joy he will be!

  21. Oh, that happens so often to me - creative block and not knowing what to do with a stamp of die!!!!! But your card turned out wonderfully, Hazel!!!!! That glossy cs you used are so beautiful and really have your beautiful die-cut edge shine!!!! And how cute and perfect those little flower sequins are to use here!!!! Your card really turned out great, Hazel!!!!
