Last Minute Crafting

Hello my lovelies!  Today is the last chance I will have to get any crafting done for just over three weeks!  I should be getting things organised to pack now, but . . . what the heck?  We don't actually go until early Tuesday morning, but I still have loads of things to do before we go, so tomorrow is going to be out and as Sunday is my 'Funday', it had to be done!  I might manage to get some blog visits in tomorrow, but I can't promise.  I do have a few posts scheduled, so you will see some in June from me!

Right, onward.  I will list my supplies below the pictures.  Here they are.

Supplies used:

Dutch Doobadoo 'Grunge' stencil
Lawn Fawn 'Just For You Labels'
Hero Arts 'Color Layering: Flowers For You'
Altenew 'Crisp Inks'
Lenor 'Unstoppables' (smelly balls . . . you know, don't you)

Thank you so much for your visit today and especially if you have left a comment.  You are all appreciated more than you know!

Do You Have A "Go To Cardmaking Formula?"

Hello all you lovely people!  How are you doing today?  Good, I hope!  A couple of days ago, I was watching a video by one of my favourite CAS card artists, Yana Smakula about her "go to formula" for her CAS cards.  This got me thinking about today's card.  It was so easy and quick to make.  I'll explain.

I always have a stash of  'practice' background pieces that have been, smooshed, sprayed, inked or other techniques used on them and after they have dried I usually put them in my drawer.  I also, usually have cover plate panels, whereby, I get a new cover plate, cut a panel to 'test' it and then that goes into the drawer too . . . you are getting the picture now, aren't you, I can tell.

Well, today I pulled out some of those pieces and put them together in a card . . . it was so QACAS!!  So, I think that this might just become my "go to formula", as I rather liked the way this one turned out.  Here are the rest of the pictures.

So, tell me ladies, what would be your "go to formula" for a successful card?

No Internet Connection, Hence, Four Stash Cards

Hello crafty buddies!  As some of you will know, today I was without internet all day until around 17:15, or thereabouts, so, of course, there was only one thing for it . . . hole up in my craft room!  Some more cards that I needed for my 'stash' was masculine birthday cards (I am not very inventive when it comes to masculine cards, especially for the men in my family, as they are not particularly into the usual kind of sports)  therefore, I never really know what to do for them.

Well, I had been playing with some alcohol inks on glossy photo paper and I had two panels in different colours.  I have had these inks for years and only recently dug them out again.  So, I used these panels to make some masculine cards with.

Be warned, my lovelies, this is definitely a picture heavy post, so grab a cuppa and pull up a comfy chair, or, if you are in a hurry, forget it until another day ;)  Here goes.

Card #1 - Half of one inked panel

Card #2 - Half of the inked panel above

Card #3 - With half of the second panel

Card #4 - The other half of the panel above

Two of the cards together

Finally (thank goodness I hear you say) . . . the insides decorated with the 'left-overs' from the outside panels

I have tried to get around to as many of you as I could today once my internet was back up, but if I have missed any of you, I will be trying to catch up tomorrow!

So, what have you all been up to while my back has been turned?  All good stuff I hope!

Cards Needed For Stash

Hi all you lovely, lovely people!  I hope everyone had a good week . . . I just blinked and missed it!  My cards today, are cards I need for my 'stash'.  I try to keep a few cards of each type on hand for those unexpected events.

I recently gave my last get well card out, and so, needed to make a few to keep on hand.  So, I have two very quick ones today.  The first, is what I would call, a 'cheater' card.  That is, it was more-or-less an 'assembly' job.  The focal panel was a 'journal' card - I don't do journaling - but it was a very pretty card, so I just mounted it on to a piece of card that I had coloured by taking the ink pad to the paper and rubbed it over in a coordinating colour and then mounted that on to a Concord & 9th card base, stamped the sentiment, added some 'Glossy Accents' to the flower centres, sprinkled with microfine glitter and that  was that, job done!  Here is that card.

My other card was made using a new, unused Kaisercraft embossing folder called, 'Sketched Rose', which was lying on my desk ready to be put away.  I embossed a water-coloured panel that I had made on a previous occasion and gently sponged over the raised areas with my - very old - Inka Gold in 'Copper' to make it stand out more and mounted that on to a plain white card base and added the sentiment heat embossed on to a piece of black card-stock and mounted that with some foam tape.  Here is that card.

One Patterned Paper, Two Cards

Hi everyone!  I hope you all had a good day.  Today, I have two very simple cards indeed.  I had one piece of patterned paper, which I cut diagonally and used for two cards.  I wish I had used one of the patterned pieces at the bottom to make them the complete opposites of each other, but I think that can be a future project.

It's just that I have so much pp that I decided I should try and use it more, so you might be seeing more of it in future posts.

These cards really need no explanation, you all can see what I have done.  So, without further ado, here they are.

That's it for today my lovelies!

Belated Birthday Wishes

Hi my friends.  I hope you are all having a great week.  As those of you who follow me will know, I am off to Spain at the end of this month and there are two friends over there that will be having birthdays just before we arrive.

Now, as the postal service in that particular part of Spain is notoriously sketchy at the best of times.  I will be taking over their birthday cards (I don't have to worry about them seeing them on here as there is little to no internet there), and so, they will be belated.

Here they are.
