A Quick One Before We Go!

Hi fellow bloggers and friends!  I just had to get a quick post in before we are off, in . . . eeek . . . five days!  And I haven't even thought about packing yet!  I have been busy sorting things out for Mum to ensure things go smoothly whilst we are away.  We have an electrician coming around the day before we go to 'upgrade' our trip switches, to hopefully ensure we don't have a repeat of our last return home!

To-days card has presented me with a few problems, mostly to do with the amount of shine on it!  The first problem was that, with the amount of heat embossing on the front, the card warped badly.  The second problem was that trying to photograph with the foil, caused so much glare that I had trouble with the exposure.  But, gentle readers, I got there in the end!  Sorry about the poor quality photos though!

I will schedule a couple of posts for whilst I am away and I will miss you all terribly!

Thank you so much for your visit today and especially if you have left a comment.  You are all appreciated more than you know!

Still Not Thinking . . .

. . . for myself yet!  Which is why this card is a CASE of a Connie Stewart card I watched her make on You Tube.  I loved the colour combo she used, so here it is.  I did switch it a bit, by changing the orientation, and did a little more stamping than she did, so it does look slightly different.  But the colours and the elements are the same.

Cheater Cards

Well, lovely friends!  Our summer heatwave appears to be over!  It lasted three glorious days . . . it was so hot, I was unable to go into my little craft room in the attic - and stay for any length of time, even with a fan going - so I brought a 'kit' down, a pair of scissors and some glue, and put a few cards together.

It was so hot, I couldn't think, so I stuck to the kit photos  I'm sorry I have nothing else today.

Normal service will resume soon, now that the summer is over 😉 But, only for . . . . ONE WEEK . . . Eeeeek!  Then  we are off to Las Vegas for our twentieth wedding anniversary!  It has really snuck up on me, and I've got nothing done!  We have someone coming round to 'upgrade' our electrics (the electrics are fine, it's just that our trip switches are getting older now and the guy said that they can get a bit 'finicky' as they get older - I know the feeling - so he's putting new ones in) before we go to (hopefully) avoid the disaster we had facing us on arrival back home from our last trip away!

Paisleys & Posies . . . With Neither!

Hello Crafters!  Today I was playing with a new - to me - stamp set from Stampin' Up, called Paisleys & Posies.  However, I just wanted to use the pretty circle designs from the set and see what I could do with them!

I stamped the greeting first on to a panel of white card-stock and then used a colour combination of  'Tempting Turquoise', 'Melon Mambo' and 'Daffodil Delight' and stamped a pattern all around the sentiment.

I didn't have any 'Melon Mambo' card-stock, so I took my ink pad to some white card and inked the borders and adhered that to the centre of my 'Daffodil Delight' panel which was adhered to a white base card (I do this to save on coloured card-stock).

Next, I adhered my stamped panel to the front and finished with some shimmery dots and centres to the circles with my 'Stardust' gel pen.

Here is my card.

I didn't do a lot to the inside, I just  did a strip of yellow and a strip of pink at the bottom and stamped a couple of the images from the stamp set in 'Tempting Turquoise' but left a sentiment out until I decide what to use the card for.

This Card Is For You!

Hello lovely, thoughtful friends.  Today's card is made with all of you in mind - for the sweet comments of caring, you leave me when things go awry in life - and for my latest little problem!  You are all so kind.

So, when I was making this card, I was looking to see what sentiment I wanted to put on it and came across this one that I thought was so perfect as a dedication to you all.

Here is the card.  I hope you like it . . . it's for you!

The sentiment says it all!  Let me know if you think there needs to be less photos of the one card - only, it seems to me, that I am uploading more and more - I noticed that some card makers only put one photo of each card they make, which is enough for me (except when I wish to see something a little closer, a small detail) - but let me explain my reasons why I have so many now.

The first shot, is more of an 'artsy' shot, with the props.  The second and third shows the card from two opposing angles (in case certain elements aren't clear enough at certain angles).  The fourth shot shows a detail close-up and now - as requested by a new follower - a shot of the inside too!

Let me know in the comments below, whether there are certain shots you think I could do without here, as I'm always looking to improve the look of my blog and with your help, hopefully, I can!

Another Pre-Made Panel Christmas Card

Hello crafty friends.  I hope you've had a good day.  My card today is another panel that I took to Spain with me to colour.  The image is a digi image and I coloured it with my watercolour pencils and a water-brush - they are more convenient for me when travelling!

I just stamped a greeting and mounted it onto a card base that I'd covered with a plaid patterned paper, and called it done.  There will be a few more pre-made panels that I will post now from time to time - but I will intersperse them with other types of card - promise!  Here it is.

And, as requested . . . the inside!

No matter what I do, I just can't get a decent angle on the inside shot?  I have tried placing it so I can photograph from directly above, but then I always cast a shadow on it.  I have also tried, turning it 'inside out' and standing it up, but then it just wants to 'flatten' itself out?  Any suggestions would be greatly received.

Thank you so much for your visit today and especially if you have left a comment.

A Short, Quick Crafting Break!

Hello lovely friends!  Thank you for popping by and leaving such sweet comments re: my latest disaster!  I just had to take a quick crafting break . . . I have been sooo long without making a card that I was getting withdrawal symptoms 😧 So, I took a 'Bugaboo' digi image that I had taken with me to Spain and coloured with my coloured pencils and cut it out by hand, stamped a few snowflakes and assembled . . . quick, easy, no fuss!

Here are the pictures - I have also shown the inside of this card as requested - it's nothing special, but one of my regular readers asked for it.

An Awful Welcome Home!

Hello my friends!  First I what to thank all of you who visited my blog and commented these past weeks, even though you knew I wouldn't be able to return the favour!  You are so very, very sweet!

I have no card today, as we only arrived home yesterday and we have so much to do . . . I will explain!

We arrived home after a two hour drive at 03:30 in the morning, opened the front door and encountered a stomach wrenching smell, the whole house smelled like a rubbish tip of rotting, putrefying food . . . we had had a power cut eleven days ago and our two freezers had defrosted and all the food had rotted . . . meat, vegetables, ice cream had all turned to liquid and filled the house with a wonderful smell to greet us!  So, we had to clear that all up before we could get some sleep!  We managed to crawl into bed at 05:30 as the sun was coming up - well, it was daylight, there was no sun, only rain!

We have had to get a load of food now, as we have nothing left to eat, so I will leave you gentle readers, with a few video clips and a couple of pictures that we took whilst away (they aren't wonderful, as I have had no time to edit and they were only shot on my old phone).

Here they are, such as they are!
