Another 'Snippet' Card
As you all will probably realise, this week I have been making cards just for the 'fun of it', getting back to my hobby, so-to-speak. Sometimes I think that I have got so caught up in the 'challenges' that I am always making cards to 'spec'. That's great, I enjoy that too, having the 'focus' and 'reason' to craft, but just occasionally, I like to sit at my desk and let the cards 'speak to me' . . . I know, I sound like a third rate clairvoyant!!
Seriously though, I sometimes like to just sit at my desk and go through, die-cuts that were 'trials', backgrounds that were 'technique try outs' and my folders of 'snippets' - bits of card left over from previous projects and scraps of patterned paper. This week has been one of those weeks and I have had a ball!
So, here is another card, in which I used those 'snippets' and a butterfly I had coloured in with my coloured pencils. I am again linking this to the lovely Di's 'Pixie's Snippets Playground' where anything goes as long as you use some snippets.
Here are the rest of the pictures.
For those of you, who I know will ask for details of the embossing folder used, it is a We R Memory Keepers 'Basket Weave' folder. Have a wonderful day/evening and thank you for stopping by! Hazel xx

OMGosh, this is a beautiful card Hazel! Don't you love these embossing folders?! I have a couple NBUS ones, but don't think I have the basket weave one. Wanted it but it was sold out if I remember correctly. It's on my wish list though. lol I love, love that beautiful butterfly, it is stunning and you have colored it so perfectly. And speaking of perfect, that sentiment couldn't be more perfect! Hugs, Brenda
ReplyDeleteSimply gorgeous...just love it! What a fabulous and beautiful butterfly and that coloring is shear perfection!
ReplyDeleteSuch a pretty card. Great use of that embossing folder. I just got it in the mail yesterday and now have additional ideas to use it :-)
ReplyDeleteThank you Toni! Yes, they are fabulous folder’s aren’t they? However, I did feel that they weren’t the type to use for a whole card front, although it is an amazing effect, I felt the pattern was a bit overwhelming, but using just a piece looked dramatic and stunning. Thanks for popping by! Have a lovely day! Hazel xx
DeleteI know exactly what you mean about playing with the snippets to create a card. I keep all sorts of bits and pieces and I love picking one or more and creating a card with them. I absolutely LOVE your CAS card. Your butterfly looks amazing!!

Stunning card Hazel! I adore the idea of just the strip using that amazing folder - as you say, it means the card isn't overwhelmed. Beautiful butterfly too!

HI, Did you emboss, cut a strip, and glue it to an A2 card front? This is gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteHi Kelli, thanks you so much for your lovely comment! I am hoping you come back here to read this reply, as I have no other way to contact you as you are a 'no reply' blogger! Yes, it was a strip cut from an embossed panel and adhered to the front of a plain white base card and I hand embossed some lines down either side of the strip, to give it a more 'finished' look! Thank you for your visit and do pop back again sometime! Hazel xx
