Freshly Made Sketches #284
Hello lovelies. I hope you are all having a lovely weekend so far. Today, I wanted to make a card for a sweet friend, so I thought I would use the sketch over at the Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #284 blog. This is their sketch, which is a sketch by Karren!
I hadn't used these butterflies from Clearly Besotted or this embossing folder by We R Memory Keepers in a long while and they are actually a couple of my favourite crafting items (note to self: I MUST use my favourite items more), I don't think this card needs any more explanation, so on to the pics!
There is a little shimmer spritz to the base card, which isn't showing in the photos, but it is a subtle shimmer.
Thank you so much for your visit today and especially if you have left a comment. You are all appreciated more than you know!
If you have a question, please be sure I have a way to contact you so I can answer, as a lot of you are 'no-reply' bloggers, so I am unable to reply via e-mail.

Various reinkers

Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #178
I just had to try and squeeze in an entry to what has become one of the most addictive challenges for me lately the Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #178 - A sketch by Narelle this is their sketch this week.
One of the techniques I learned on my course this week turned out to be one of my favourites, so I thought I'd do something similar for the FMS challenge. I turned the sketch upside down and did this.
Supplies used:
SSS - Stitched Circles
ME - So Breezy
SSS - Let's Go Fly A Kite
Clearly Besotted - A Little Sentimental
As Always, thanks for stopping by today, you are all appreciated more than you know. I hope your are having a lovely weekend. Until tomorrow, with today's homework. hazel xx

Freshly Made Sketches #177 - Take Two
Today, I am squeezing in a last challenge for a week . . . yes, my class does actually start on Monday . . . really, this time. If you are a reader of my blog, you will know that I said I was satrting the course about two monday's ago and then had to retract, as I had made a mistake with the date!
Anywho, back to today's card. This one is a second bite of the Freshly Made Sketches #177 challenge, which is a sketch, the sketch below.
And this is my card
First I ran a white card base through my Cuttlebug and embossed the front with my EP.
Next, I cut a panel with my die for the layering piece.
Then I cut a scrap of cardstock that I had watercoloured and was left over from another project and the top layer of the butterfly out of vellum.
I used a strip of the vellum for the sentiment, just tore the end for a ragged look and coloured the back with an alchohol marker in a colour to complement my butterfly.
I then embossed a strip down the front of my layering panel with a masked off stencil. I heat embossed the strip of vellum with my sentiment and assembled my butterfly.
I finished by layering the panel to the front of my card with foam tape and mounted the sentiment and butterfly to finish.
All supplies are listed below. Thank you for taking the time to visit my little blog and I appreciate every comment you lovely folk leave, I will always reciprocate whenever possible. If you have signed up for the class, 'Stretch Your Dies', I'll see you in class!
Have a lovely Sunday! Hazel xx
Supplies used:
Papertrey Ink - Embossing Plate
Spellbinders - Wonky Rectangles Die
Simon Says Stamp - 'Screened Leaves' Stencil
Clearly Besotted - 'Fabulous Fuchsias' stamp and Butterfly Dies

CAS(E) This Sketch Challenge #113
Hi my lovely readers! I have to start this post with yet another apology! This time it's to say, sorry, I mislead you in the last post . . . my course didn't start then . . . it starts on the 16th March, so, another week yet!
I think it's because I'm so excited about taking it that it was wishful thinking on my part . . . or, to face facts . . . my age! ;)
Anywho, today's offering is for the CAS(E) This Sketch Challenge #113 and this is the sketch
And this is my card
First I used my PTI embossing plate to emboss the card front, then I ran a piece of card through my cutting machine using one of the stitched rectangle dies from Lawn Fawn.
Next, I stamped the flower using Clearly Besotted 'Flowers & Flourishes' with Clearsnap Colorbox pigment inks and the sentiment in Versafine Onyx Black. and mounted this panel to the center of the card base, using fun foam (Jennifer McGuire's genius idea)
I finished off by punching out three little flowers from some coordinating cardstock and sponged the edges and put a little gem in each flower center and mounted those to the side of the stamped panel.
I would like to thank you for taking the time to visit my little blog and for any comments you leave, they are all greatly appreciated and I do reciprocate where possible.
Have a lovely day! Hazel xx

In With The Old . . . In With The New - NBUS Challenge.
What is the meaning of this twist on an old adage?
Well, when the old year 2014 left, it took with it my crafting mojo!
Cue, in with the new, challenge . . . over at my dear blogging friend Darnell's wonderful blog.
The challenge . . . to use something that you may have had a while and never used . . . hence, NBUS, Never Before Used Schtuff . . . ideal!
This is where you will find this great challenge
And this is what I came up with, explanations are below pics
Detail
Detail
The images were my NBUS supply, which was the beautiful, Altenew, 'Persian Motifs' stamp set, that I just had to get and then never got around to using it!
The sentiment was a slightly newer NBUS, set, which is the, Simon Says Stamp, 'Friendship Messages' and the golden embossing powder was one of my most favourite embossing powders . . . no, make that my very most favourite of all time! That has been used a number of times!
So, there you have it, Darnell has started my mojo back up again and kicked off my first post of 2015! Thanks as always Darnell, and thank you all, who popped in in 2014 and I hope to see you back here and around the various blogs during this year.
As always, I appreciate all your coments and will reciprocate! Have a great day and year!

CAS(E) This Sketch #101
The card today is for the CAS(E) This Sketch #101 Challenge . . . this is their sketch.
And this is my take on it
Detail
If I did this card again I wouldn't use the dotted circle die - you can barely notice the holes - or the stamped bow for the bell . . . but, hey ho, it's only through making mistakes that we learn eh?
All supplies used are listed below.
Supplies:
Dies - My Favorite Things 'Dotted Circle' & 'Pierced Circle' Dies and Clearly Besotted 'Joy To The World'
Stamps - Clearly Besotted 'Joy To The World', Simon Says Stamp 'Holiday Hello's' and Lawn Fawn 'Let It Snow'
Embossing Powder - WOW 'Metallic Rich Gold'
Thank you for taking the time to visit today and I appreciate all your comments. Hazel x
